Description

The Eventide Blackhole is a reverb plug-in designed to provide versatile reverb and performance controls for producers, composers, sound designers, and audio engineers in portable mixing and project studios, and commercial facilities. It is based on a preset originally found in the Eventide DSP4000 hardware multi-effects unit. All controls are in a single window for fast parameter access.

In addition to expected parameters such as decay time, size, and pre-delay, there are controls for feedback, resonance, and high- and low-frequency shelving filters. Reverb tails can be modulated via the Mod Depth and Mod Rate knobs. Pressing Kill mutes the input signal and allows the reverb tail to decay on its own. Freeze mutes the input signal and enables infinite reverb, which can be modified with other controls. The Hotswitch button toggles between two configurations of settings, which makes it easy to set up different verse and chorus sounds. Real-time morphing between setups is possible via the horizontal ribbon strip.

The Blackhole supports AAX Native, Audio Units, and VST plug-in formats and is compatible with Mac OS X and Windows.
