Description

IK Multimedia’s T-RackS Leslie emulates the tone and feel of several classic Leslie rotary cabinets, doing so in conjunction with Hammond USA and the Suzuki Music Corporation. In one module, you’re given five Leslie amplifiers and six cabinets. The module can be opened on its own within your DAW or nestled inside of T-RackS 5 for use with other mixing/mastering processes.

IK Multimedia used their Dynamic Interaction Modeling Technology to study and emulate the nuances of every electrical component that goes into a Leslie amplifier, taking into careful account the interaction between discrete sections, and thus reproducing the non-linear dynamics that make Leslies so special to so many instrumentalists.

All cabinets have been crafted using Volumetric Response Modeling, a proprietary technology that aims to provide a response indistinguishable from the original units. However, Leslie cabinets can often be quite large, portly, and hard to cart around, whereas software takes up no space in the physical universe.

Feel free to use this module on keyboards, organs, guitars, vocals and more. It’s compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems, and works within audio units, VST, AAX formats.

Leslie 122A Model

The Leslie 122A is the modern take on the most prominent Leslie model, with a balanced input to the amplifier and a medium-tall cabinet that provides a hefty bass response. This has a slightly more open and upfront tone when compared to the classic 122.

Leslie 147 Model

The Leslie 147 is another classic Leslie model with a different connector slightly different power amp, which is an unbalanced input to the amplifier and a slightly shorter cabinet. The overall sound is very similar to the classic 122 but with some noticeably and musically relevant differences. The IK Multimedia modeled version is a vintage unit from the mid 60s, with no reflectors on the horns, which gives another flavor to the sound and an even more tangible sonic difference from the classic 122.

Leslie 3300w Model

The Leslie 3300w is one of Leslie’s most powerful models, featuring a 300W RMS solid-state amplifier with a vacuum tube preamp. Its sound signature is especially suitable for pop, rock, jazz, and blues.

Leslie G37 and Studio 12

Guitarists of all kinds use the G37 for its tonal character. The onboard solid-state amplifier with its tube preamp section can go from pristine clean to down and dirty for a variety of tonal nuances, similar to the sound Leslie speakers can provide through a compact dual-rotor cabinet utilizing a vintage V30 12″ speaker customized for electric guitar. The Studio 12, on the other hand, was designed as a more portable amp for keyboard players. It also uses a tube-driven solid-state amplifier and a dual rotor design, but sports a 12″ Eminence bass speaker tailored to the wider low-frequency range of organs.
