iZotope RX Post Production Suite 3 – Software Bundle (Download)

Available for download, iZotope‘s RX Post Production Suite 3 combines Neutron 2 Advanced, RX 7 Advanced, Insight 2, and other tools to help facilitate the post production process.

RX 7 Advanced gives you a spectral editor for zeroing in on troublesome audio, as well as a plethora of modules that can help you mitigate sonic issues anywhere in the frequency spectrum. It also provides a Repair Assistant which intelligently analyzes audio and suggests corrections.

Neutron 2 provides a refined track assistant and a tailored limiter that meets broadcast specifications. Also provided are a noise gate, surround support up to 7.1.2, and RX Loudness Control, to help you meet your broadcast targets.

Insight 2 is a comprehensive metering suite with customizable controls for loudness, frequency, stereo-field monitoring, and dialogue intelligibility. Integrated, short-term and momentary LUFS meters are provided as well as a loudness history graph that can be copied and pasted to text documents. You can also export a detailed history report that complements your resulting mix: a detailed loudness report and graph is made for clients in the broadcast world. For your convenience, the GUI is resizable, so you can make it as big as you’d like.

This software operates in AAX, AU, VST, and RTAS formats. It is compatible with Mac and Windows platforms. Included are 250 sounds from Pro Sound Effects and a one-year, all access pass for Groove3 training videos.

iZotope Nectar 3 – Vocal Production Channel Strip Software for (Download)

Available for download, iZotope Nectar 3 is a channel strip plug-in developed for vocal mixing and polishing. Compression, equalization, saturation, vocal harmonies, and more are provided in the channel strip.

Nectar 3 takes many features available in version 2 of Nectar and expands upon them, updating them both in aesthetics and processing. Many new features are offered in Nectar 3, such as a Vocal Assistant, which creates a custom preset for your specific vocal after analyzing it.

You’ll also note the unmask feature, which carves out of the way any competing instruments, letting the vocal shine through the mix. A dynamic EQ has been added that can follow unwelcome resonances as they move up and down the frequency range, intelligently curtailing nasty blooms of sound so you don’t have to automate them yourself, or split them onto different tracks.

The new Dimension module provides chorus, flanging, and more, while Reverb and Delay modules have been redesigned to give you new and exciting kinds of delay. The Harmony section has been updated. Automatic Level Mode, on the input fader, quickly adjusts the levels of your vocals in a transparent manner, mitigating the need for corrective dynamics processing. A limiter, at the end of the chain, can ensure you don’t go over your desired level and can also impart a meaty feeling upon the sound.

Included with Nectar 3 are several other plug-ins that are quite helpful. Melodyne is world-renowned pitch-correction software, and Nectar 3 comes with Melodyne 4 Essential. RX 7 Breath Control is on hand for taking out unwanted breaths. Relay ensures inter-plug-in communication: put Relay on a guitar track that competes with the vocal’s midrange, and the Vocal Assistant can now target that guitar, changing its EQ to keep it out of the vocal’s way.

This software is compatible with Mac and Windows platforms. It is included in AU, AAX, VST, and RTAS formats.

iZotope RX 7 Standard Audio Restoration and Enhancement Software (Download)

Available for download, iZotope RX 7 Standard is the latest update to iZotope’s audio repair software, which is considered a staple for recording, mastering, and audio-for-video post-processing. The software can operate either as a standalone application or as a plug-in for both Mac- and Windows-based DAWs and NLEs. From fixing common audio problems like noises, distortions, and inconsistent recordings, to repairing severely damaged audio using Spectral Repair, RX can transform previously unusable audio into something usable.

The standard edition of RX 7 takes nearly all the modules provided in RX 6 Standard and implements a graphic overhaul more in line with iZotope’s current aesthetic. You’ll also find several new processes sure to help out in audio-restoration contexts including Variable Time, Variable Pitch, Music Rebalance, and the Repair Assistant.

Variable Time lets you change the time stretch of an audio selection without affecting its pitch. Variable Pitch does the opposite, allowing you to adjust the pitch of an audio selection without negatively impacting its duration. Previously, these processes were combined into one module.

Music Rebalance analyzes a full mix of music and allows you to rebalance the levels of its bass, vocals, drums, and harmonic content, doing so with four dedicated sliders. Do you have a bit of background music whose vocal line interferes with the dialogue? Use the Music Rebalance module to lower the offending vocal. Need to beef up the bass in an anemic mix that came your way? Use this tool to emphasize the bass with the bass slider.

Repair Assistant takes the concept behind iZotope’s Mixing and Mastering Assistants and applies them to the restoration of audio. Simply select the audio you need to process, click on the Repair Assistant button, and let the program analyze your audio. It will offer you three options for processing (light, medium, and aggressive), and you can choose among them after auditioning each one. Next, hit render, and the Repair Assistant will automatically fix the issue.

All the tools work as they did in earlier versions of RX, allowing you to paint away audio problems on the spectrogram, as does the Module Chain, which reduces the number of mouse clicks required for using a series of processes. Many algorithms which did not provide real-time preview now do, which makes working a bit faster.

High-quality resampling and dithering are once again provided along with batch processing. A detailed spectrum analyzer detects peaks automatically, and a suite of automatic, intelligent modules reduces manual tasks in the audio production workflow. RX 7 can be used as a standalone audio editor (including standalone but connected to your host via RX Connect, or as your DAW’s audio editor, in the case of Logic Pro), and much of it can be used as a suite of plug-ins.

New Modules and Features

Variable Time

Adjust the time-stretch amount of an audio selection without altering its pitch.

Variable Pitch

Adjust the pitch of an audio selection while preserving the time and length.

Music Rebalance

Identify vocals, bass, percussion, and other instruments in a mix, and adjust the gain for each element. Isolate or remove vocals. This module is also available as an AudioSuite plug-in.

Repair Assistant

Repair Assistant is an intelligent tool that detects noise, clipping, clicks, and more, allowing you to solve audio-restoration issues quickly and effectively. After analyzing any snippet of audio you select, it will provide three different options for processing, and let you make the ultimate choice.

General Features

Composite View

Composite View allows you to edit and apply processing to 16 individual audio tracks as if they were one, easily addressing audio issues that appear across multiple microphones.

De-bleed

Working across multiple tracks, the De-bleed module reduces the leakage of one signal into another. De-bleed can help reduce or eliminate bleed from headphones, click tracks, multiple mics with small amounts of cross bleed, and even some drum bleed issues.

De-ess

The De-ess plug-in and module attenuates or reduces sibilance (the harsh high-frequency sounds that come from S, F, X, SH, and soft C sounds). Two modes for handling sibilance are provided. Classic Mode detects sibilants and attenuates them with a broadband gain envelope. Spectral Mode is more transparent, intelligent, and frequency-specific and only attenuates the high frequencies where sibilance is most active, leaving the lower frequencies untouched.

Mouth De-click

The Mouth De-click module has been finely tuned to detect and reduce mouth noises such as clicks and lip smacks—many listeners’ worst nightmare. It’s designed for use on longer audio selections, but it can also be used to remove individual clicks.

Breath Control

The Breath Control module intelligently detects breaths in dialogue or vocal recordings and suppresses them. Removing and reducing breaths in recordings can be a time-consuming process for dialogue editors and music producers. Breath Control can help reduce the time spent on repetitive editing without sacrificing audio quality.

Voice De-noise

The zero-latency Voice De-noise has been designed to focus on dialogue and sung vocal treatment. Voice De-noise has an Adaptive mode that can adjust to a changing noise floor in real time, making it ideal for dialogue denoising. Also added are optimization modes for dialogue and music. When optimized for music, Voice De-noise excels at attenuating unwanted background noise from like air conditioners and street noise from sung vocals in apartment recording situations.

iZotope VocalSynth 2 – Vocal Resynthesis and Harmony Generation Software (Download)

Featuring a complete graphical redesign and a whole new voice-modeling module, iZotope VocalSynth 2 is a tool designed to transform an input signal—usually a vocal—into a creative, synthetic sound. An instance of this plug-in provides access to five separate vocal engines. You get the four modules from the original Vocalsynth (Vocoder, Talkbox, Polyvox, & Compuvox), and a whole new one called Biovox.

Biovox utilizes scientific modeling of the human vocal tract, allowing you to change aspects like formants, vowel shapes, and nasality in a smooth manner. Use Biovox for subtly-changed vocal doubles when you’ve only got a single vocal track, or utilize this module as an eccentric sound-design tool.

The effects section has been updated to provide better sound quality, and two new stompbox-style modules have been added to the mix: Chorus and Ring Mod, the latter also serving as an idiosyncratic tremolo effect. As with the previous version of VocalSynth, you can use the plug-in in various modes, including Auto Mode (requiring no MIDI or sidechaining), MIDI Mode (imparting the consonants, formants, and vowels of a sidechain inpun upon the MIDI synth); and Sidechain Mode (applying the quality of the vocal to an audio source, say a guitar for example).

This plug-in also allows for inter-communication between iZotope plug-ins, meaning you can seamlessly integrate VocalSynth 2 with Neutron 2, Ozone 8, and Tonal Balance Control. VocalSynth 2 can be seen and manipulated within Neutron 2’s Visual Mixer and Masking Meter as well. This software is compatible with Mac and Windows platforms, and supports AU, VST, and AAX formats.

Key Features at a Glance

5 Vocal Processing Engines

VocalSynth 2 provides separate engines for Vocoder, Talkbox, Polyvox, Compuvox, and now Biovox. Use any of these to emulate the tones of classic records or to achieve something truly new.

Stompbox Style Effects

VocalSynth 2’s effects include two brand new pedal-style effects: Chorus and Ring Mod with a tremolo effect. Now drag to re-order all seven effects including an improved Shred with sequencer as well as Distort, Filter, Transform, and Delay.

3 Modes

VocalSynth 2 is built to be flexible, giving you three ways to interact and create: Auto Mode, MIDI Mode, and Sidechain Mode.

Inter-Plugin Communication

Use VocalSynth 2 within Neutron 2’s Visual Mixer and Masking Meter, as well as Tonal Balance Control for a bird’s eye view of your music production at all times.

Improvements Over Original

Improvements have been made to the Vocoder module, as well as Talkbox, Polyvox, and Compuvox. These improve usability, CPU utilization, and sound quality.

iZotope Insight 2 – Metering & Audio Analysis Plug-In for Music & Post Production (Download)

Available for download, iZotope Insight 2 is an update to their renowned metering software and comprises a set of tools designed for post-production and broadcast applications. Insight 2 provides an extensive set of audio analysis and metering tools that can help you visualize the changes made during mixing and mastering. These meters can be essential for troubleshooting problematic mixes, as well as ensuring compliance with broadcast loudness standards.

Fully customizable and scalable, Insight 2 allows you to visually monitor all the relevant information from your mono, stereo, or multichannel mix in a convenient floating window. This window has been redesigned and updated to provide a sleek look more in concert with iZotope’s current design scheme. Also, the GUI is now resizable: it can encompass a full screen or just one tiny meter floating in the corner of your DAW. Thus, the metering can be adapted to suit your workflow as it changes.

Insight 2 visually guides you throughout the mixing process, empowering you to look deeper into your audio with intelligent analysis tools and real-time monitoring capabilities. Loudness meters are clearly visible with color-coded readouts for short-term, momentary, and integrated values. Multichannel RMS metering is on hand, as is sound-field monitoring, a loudness history graph, a spectrum analyzer (for frequency content), a customizable spectrogram, and a new addition to the family: the Intelligibility Meter.

This tool works in conjunction with iZotope’s new Relay module to help you see, at a glance, whether or not dialogue is intelligible over the rest of the mix. Simply put Relay on your mix, and track the results in the meter. With an easy-to-read scale, you will discover if your dialogue’s intelligibility will translate to other listening environments. You can even choose listening environments to check if the dialogue will read well over moderately noisy or severely noisy confines.

The included Relay module facilitates intercommunication with compatible iZotope products as well as the ability to monitor the output of audio affected by third-party plug-ins; the latter function is accomplished by instantiating Relay as the last plug-in in your chain. The module itself has multiple useful features, including delay offset, phase invert, sum-to-mono, L/R swap, and high-pass filtering.

Fully compliant with EBU R128, ITU-R BS.1770-1/2/3/4, ATSC A/85, OP-59, and other current standards, Insight 2 provides the tools you need to be confident that your audio meets regulations. It is compatible with Mac and Windows platforms, and operates in AU, AAX, AAX-AS, RTAS, DPM-AS, VST2, and VST3.

Key Features at a Glance

Updated Look and Feel

Insight 2 has an updated design that matches the rest of the iZotope family. Important metering targets have been emphasized to make the metering suite easier to read at a glance.

Resizable

Now you can easily resize individual meters in the main window by clicking and dragging between two meter frames. Also, the main window can be resized to be as small as the smallest meter, or to take up the whole screen.

Customize Your Layout

Insight 2 is customizable and flexible to suit your workflow. Select one of the many Layouts designed for specific post- and music-production settings.

Intelligibility Meter

This meter provides guidance on whether dialogue is likely to be overshadowed by the loudness of the rest of your mix. Using iZotope Relay or other compatible plug-ins, Insight 2 takes information from your dialogue track and gives you recommendations on where your dialogue should be when compared to the rest of the elements. Select among different target listening environments that range from low to high noise. This will help you check how your dialogue will translate to different listeners in different spaces.

Multichannel support

Analyze audio in surround sound up to Dolby Atmos 7.1.2

iZotope Ozone 8 Advanced – Mastering Software (Full Version, Download)

Available for download, iZotope Ozone 8 Advanced is software designed for mastering music, providing many modules for the task. The software builds upon the offerings of previous iterations with visual improvements, tweaks to algorithms under the hood, a handy Master Assistant control, and much more. Aside from workflow improvements, the creative elements of mastering continue to be pushed front and center in this version, allowing you to create masters of your music in an intuitive, user-friendly manner.

Take the new Master Assistant, for instance. After you select this task, a window will pop up asking you “what are you going for?” From here, you’re offered a choice of targets: Streaming, for online platforms as such as Spotify and iTunes Radio, CD for louder masters optimized for the compact disc, and References, which allows you to target a specific example of your own selection and match it for tonal consistency and level. Next, a window asks you for your desired intensity, with each choice dictating a different framework for compression, EQ, and ultimate loudness. After the algorithm listens to a portion of your song (iZotope playing the loudness portion of your song), intelligent settings for equalization, compression, loudness, and dynamic EQ are dialed in. These aren’t cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all presets—instead, you’ll notice subtler implementations, such as EQ shelves applied only when needed, or dynamic equalization to reduce artifacts in the limiting stage; if the algorithm decides your mix doesn’t need compression to achieve your desired target, none will be applied.

Another useful tool is the Reference Section, which allows you to import up to ten reference tracks and compare your master against them equally, giving you the ability to create markers within the reference to use as looping points. A gain slider lets you lever match your master with the reference track right inside the plug-in. Such features render many third-party referencing plug-ins gratuitous or redundant, as they are incorporated within Ozone 8 itself. They are also useful for creating cohesive albums, as you can master one track to taste, and then use that track as a master for level and frequency comparison.

A new module has been introduced into the Ozone ecosystem. Called Spectral Shaper, this module is designed to tame, smoothen, and otherwise sculpt particularly harsh bands of a mix. This module is useful for taming harsh hi-hats in a mix, de-essing a sibilant vocal within the context of a stereo track, smooth out the attack of an acoustic guitar in a folk tune, and more. The module utilizes three sliders to control tone, attack, and release, as well as a threshold control, a frequency-band selector, intensity selectors, the ability to solo the frequency band in question, and to listen/home in on the spectral shaping effect apart from the mix.

Included with Ozone 8 Advanced is a Tonal Balance Control plug-in that provides an intuitive and adjustable frequency analysis over your whole master. It’s designed to help you balance the frequencies of your track, ensuring it’s commensurate with tonal profiles of modern, vintage, or orchestral music. You can also upload your own reference tracks into Tonal Balance Control and aim to match those. On the low end, a crest factor meter is provided to make sure you don’t over-compress the bass frequencies. Within the plug-in, you can call up and tweak equalizers in any instance of Ozone 8 or Neutron 2 across your mix. This gives you a new level of control and inter-connectivity across the iZotope ecosystem.

Changes have been made to Ozone’s popular IRC IV algorithm in the maximizer module to promote low-latency implementation, as well as to improve the low-end response to the limiter, which results in a smoother limiting with fewer artifacts. Also within the maximizer is a stereo independence section with separate sliders for transients and sustain, so you can tweak how the maximizer reacts to stereo information in a more precise manner. All of the vintage modules from Ozone 7 are included, with improvements made to the compressor under the hood.

Usable both as a standalone application and as a plug-in with a supported host, this software is compatible with Windows and Mac platforms. It can operate in AAX, RTAS, VST 3, VST 3, and AudioUnit formats.

iZotope Neutron 3 Advanced – Channel Strip Software with Mix Assistant for Pro Audio Applications (Download)

Neutron 3 Advanced represents the next step forward in iZotope‘s channel-strip plug-ins, giving you the ability to balance your entire session in three clicks with the new Mix Assistant. As with previous iterations, you get an equalizer, a compressor, a transient shaper, an exciter, and other goodies from Neutron 2. But iZotope has brought a new module into the mix as well—a sweetening, tone-shaping module called Sculptor.

The modules offered in version 2 have been optimized to take as little CPU as possible. The GUI has seen an overhaul with a resizeable window as well as better control of the sliders than Version 2. The Masking Meter, which helps you identify and fix competing frequencies between two tracks, is now elegantly compacted into one, easy-to-understand window, with essential parameters like inverse link more readily available.

The most prominent additions to the Neutron platform are Mix Assistant and Sculptor. Through plug-in communication, the Mix Assistant can listen to all of the tracks in your mix and give you a static starting point. Use it at the beginning of the process: Simply place Neutron 3 or Relay on every track of your mix, run the Mix Assistant, choose the most prominent tracks when prompted (i.e., the vocal in a pop tune), and let Neutron handle all the busywork so you can get to the fun stuff.

Sculptor, on the other hand, is a sweetening, finalizing module that applies a comprehensive EQ, one that fluctuates in real-time, reacting to the track as it plays. It makes multiple dynamic choices per second. Use it to add both final polish and a creative emphasis to any track.

Neutron 3 Advanced is compatible with Mac and Windows computers and is available for download. It works in AU, AAX, and VST formats.

General Features

Mix Assistant

Through inter-plug-in communication, Mix Assistant listens to your entire mix, communicating with every track in your session to give you a balanced starting point. This starting point is built around a focus of your choice. Neutron 3 listens to your session and makes decisions to give you a balanced mix—a jumping off point from which you can make creative decisions.

Sculptor Module

Select a desired style from the menu, and the algorithm shapes the tone to achieve an ideal balance for that instrument. Change the speed at which the process is applied, or change the overall tonality, highs, or lows. You can even set filter points, stopping all processing below or above your desired frequency. This can be useful for sculpting just the midrange of track or for excluding the treble to obviate any undue harshness.

Breakout Plug-Ins

Neutron Advanced comes with 8 individual module plug-ins, so if you only need the EQ or Sculptor, you can instantiate it without loading the compressor, transient shaper, etc. Each of the modules can be loaded independently.

Improved Masking Meter

With a convenient one-window display, smoother metering with more obvious parameters, Masking Meter is now even better at helping you find and fix the competing elements of your mix.

Optimized Performance

Insert more instances of Neutron in your session, open sessions faster, and forget about bouncing sessions for overdubs. Not only is Neutron faster at processing your audio, but your sessions with multiple Neutrons will open faster with refresh rates doubled for visualizations.

Other Features at a Glance

  • Visual Mixer and iZotope Relay: Launch Mix Assistant directly from the Visual Mixer and move your tracks in a virtual space, tapping into iZotope-enabled inter-plugin communication.
