Novation Launchkey 25 | U-He Diva bundle includes the 25 Key MIDI controller and the extremely popular soft synth U-He software at one low price!
The Novation Launchkey 25 MK3 is an intuitive and fully integrated 25-key USB MIDI keyboard controller optimized for portability and tight integration with Ableton Live, which now features a dedicated button for activating the Capture MIDI function, plus track arm, quantize, click, and loop controls. The 16 improved velocity-sensitive, multicolored, backlit trigger pads provide greater control over dynamics and can be used to launch loops, samples, and more, while the eight knobs enable access to mixer functions and instrument/effect parameters. The USB-powered controller is compatible with a variety of DAWs and apps on Mac/Windows computers and iOS devices (adapter cables available separately).
The MK3 model offers expanded functionality and connectivity not found on the MK2. Pitch and modulation wheels, a flexible arpeggiator, single-finger chord triggering, and transport buttons let you spend more time creating on the controller and less time fiddling with your software. Eight Scale modes allow for deep exploration into new musical territory, by transposing keys played to notes in the scale selected. Simply choose your root note and your preferred scale, then play. Three Chord modes transform the keys and pads into an interactive surface of musical exploration, where every note played is tonally and harmonically linked. The arpeggiator lets you explore new melodies and find ideas quickly, while the mutate function reconstructs your patterns into exciting new forms.
Custom Modes simplify the relationship between controller and software. Programmable using the Novation Components browser-based tool, Custom Modes let you design the behavior of your Launchkey, with control over control assignments, MIDI routing, pad color, and much more. Utilize the full-sized 5-pin MIDI DIN output to control hardware synthesizers, drum machines, or sound modules from the Launchkey MK3.
Launchkey also has full integration with Logic and Reason, plus out of the box functionality with other DAWs, including Studio One, Cubase, and Pro Tools, via HUI. The included software bundle provides sounds, instruments, and effects to get you started and keep you inspired.
U-He Diva is a software synthesizer available for download that offers four different oscillator designs, each of which models storied analog modules of yesteryear; from Mini-Moog to Jupiter to Juno, this soft-synth aims to recreate classics as faithfully as possible. It works with Mac- and Windows-based systems in both 32- and 64-bit modes, though be forewarned: Diva is quite CPU-heavy, especially in “divine” mode, which provides zero-delay feedback filters and signature tones that have found their way into rigs of many pro-audio producers and amateurs alike.
Other modes—such as “draft” and “fast”—allow for quicker experimentation with fewer hiccups along the way, so it is indeed possible to experiment in production stages and then render the synth in “divine” mode to audio within your DAW, thus crystallizing its best tones once you’ve finished tinkering around.
Diva comes with over 1200 preset patches, all of which can be labeled “favorite” or “junk” at your discretion. Different patch templates based on individual pieces of gear will change the graphic interface, and every template hosts a multitude of modulation options, from LFOs to VCFs to ASDR envelopes. For additional processing, be aware that any knob whose label sports a downward-facing arrow symbol houses a drop-down menu for selecting many different modulation sources.
At the bottom of the GUI sits an uncomplicated series of global parameter sections, including tuning, amplifier & pan, and on-board effects. Here are multiple tabs for different windows as well, including modification (rectify, quantize, et cetera), trimmers (with more individualized offset options than the oscillator’s controls), an oscilloscope, and the aforementioned preset patches library. Also, Diva supports MIDI-learn, so you can affect and automate individual controls within the plug-in via MIDI messages after assigning them to whatever hardware knob or slider you wish.
