Available for download, the PSPAudioWare PSP MasterComp is a plug-in that provides high-quality dynamics processing on stereo sources. It is designed for pro-audio contexts, especially mixing, stem mastering, and stereo mastering.

The plug-in excels at fostering dynamic restriction, transient reduction, and analog-style smoothness. It offers controls over the threshold, ratio, attack, and release, as well as high-pass and low-pass filtering on the selectable sidechain input.

This last feature is especially useful: if either the low end or high end cause unwanted pumping, you can filter these frequencies out of the compressor’s path with these sidechain filters. Similar to hardware units like the API 2500, PSP MasterComp offers variable linking between the left and right channels, and filtering on the linking as well.

In addition to the full version of PSP MasterComp, the software comes with an additional plug-in called PSP MicroComp, which is intended for use on individual busses and tracks during the mixing process.

This software uses double-precision, 64-bit floating point calculations, as well as double-sampled FAT processing to give you transparency and fidelity, even at extreme settings or when running at high sample rates. It will work with Mac and Windows operating systems, and will operate in VST, RTAS, AU, and AAX formats.
