Available for download, the PSPAudioWare PSP NobleQ is an equalizer plug-in designed for pro-audio mixing. This software models classic passive-program EQs such as the venerated Pultec. This EQ offers a wide range of frequencies to manipulate as well as a particularly musical sound.

Classic passive EQs offer the ability to boost and cut at the same frequency in the low end, resulting in a round, warm sound without adding much in the way of mud. This operation is often referred to as the Pultec trick, and the PSPNobleQ provides the ability to enact this move.

Bringing the EQ into the modern age, PSPAudioWare has given the plug-in an adjustable high-pass filter, as well as the ability to switch between high-peak and high-shelf filters in the treble range.

This plug-in uses FAT double-sampling to ensure an analog-style response. You’ll also note the output stage, which offers an optional Valve setting that gives you a tublike sound. If you’re looking for more bands to play with, you’ll be happy to know that PSPAudioWare has included a second plug-in in this download called the PSPNobleQex. This expanded version offers a midrange section, with the ability to boost or cut selected midrange frequencies.

This software is compatible with Mac and Windows platforms. It will operate in AU, VST, AAX, and RTAS formats.
