Description

This electronic download of Sibelius First from Avid is notation software that is a fast and easy way for anyone to start writing and sharing music, from the aspiring composer and songwriter, to teachers and students. For those not yet comfortable with using notation software, the intuitive interface guides you through the process. Magnetic Layout, which keeps objects from bumping into each other, and additional time-saving tools make it easy to get professional results fast.

Sibelius First is optimized for the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 tablet, which enables you to add and edit notes quickly with just a tap of the pen, as well as play music in real time using the software’s onscreen keyboard and fretboard. The software also responds to multi-touch gestures that work with the Surface or computer trackpad to control quick zoom and navigation.

The included sound library plays back your compositions in exact detail, although it is also possible to use your own VST or Audio Units virtual instruments if you prefer. Choose the note-input method that’s most comfortable, including playing a MIDI instrument, transcribing audio, or scanning sheet music. When you’re done, choose how you want to present your music—make a video of your score, export for iPad, or share directly to YouTube, SoundCloud, or Facebook.

If you get stuck, or want to take your skills even further, just refer to the how-to and help content. If you need further inspiration, check out the Score Starter and Ideas library to kick-start your creativity. Additionally, you can print, email, or export scores as MIDI/MusicXML, and create audio files. You can also send your scores to the optional Avid Scorch mobile app and take them with you wherever you go.

Note:  Reinstate is for users who wish to extend the upgrade and support components for another twelve months after the initial twelve-month period has expired.
