IK Multimedia Syntronik String Box is a virtual synthesizer plug-in with a library that consists of authentic sounds from vintage string machines including the Arp String Ensemble, Elka Rhapsody 490, Hohner String Performer, Roland RS-505, and Roland RS-09. Extensively used by pop, disco, rock, and jazz artists of the 70’s including Elton John, Tangerine Dream, Herbie Hancock, Joy Division, Supertramp, and more, each of these synthesizers come with unique tonalities and personalities that made them the classics that they are. String Box offers models of the actual Arp String Ensemble lush chorus effect, which can be used to add dimension and animation to any sound in the library.
The library comes with 2000 samples and 110 instruments, and is powered by the included Syntronik Free player. To recreate the unmistakable sound of analog oscillators, the software employs the company’s DRIFT technology, which emulates the way real analog circuits behave over time. Syntronik Free player comes with true 4-part capability to layer rich sounds with multis and splits, four dynamic arpeggiators for complex rhythmic textures, and 38 high-quality effects derived from AmpliTube and T-RackS.
Syntronik String Box is compatible with Mac and Windows platforms, and works in VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats running at 64-bit.
