Tracktion Waveform 10 Extreme is a digital audio workstation, which offers music producers and artists a variety of efficient, empowering tools for sampling, composing, recording, editing, mixing, and mastering their songs. This latest update brings some great features and enhancement including Groove Doctor, which allows you to quantize audio, extract grooves, and extract tempo maps, as well as Beat Replace Drum Loop, which creates MIDI notes that correspond to audio transients, making drum replacement a breeze. What’s more Elastique Pro has been added, which is a time stretch algorithm by Z-Plane for advanced audio time stretching. Waveform 10 Extreme also includes the DAW Essentials Collection, the RetroMod Collection, Biotek 2, and MOK Waverazor synthesizers.

The properties panel has been replaced by the convenient Action panel, which allows you to fully customize what features are displayed from the main screen, dramatically speeding up workflow. The Edit/Mix groups link editing, volume, mute, solo, record, color, pan, send, and more. Waveform 10 also features the Artisan Collection, which offers 62 plug-ins based on the Airwindows DSP for inspirational audio sculpting tools. Two instruments have been added: 4OSC, a four-oscillator subtractive synthesizer with flexible modulation, MPE compatibility, and a range of onboard filters and effects, as well as the Subtractive synthesizer plugin, which puts a modern spin on things with 4 oscillators, each with ring modulator, 2 filters, a drive stage in-between, and lots of modulation possibilities. Waveform has added an additional six modifiers including LFO, Breakpoint, Step, Envelope Follower, Random, and MIDI Tracker.

Like its predecessor, Waveform 10 features unlimited audio and MIDI tracks, powerful corrective and creative plug-ins, and a modular mixing environment with limitless DSP chains, all accessible from a consolidated single screen user interface. Record audio and MIDI, drag-and-drop loops and samples, and automate parameters and plug-ins. Splice, comp, and fade audio. Work quickly with customization keyboard shortcuts and programmable macros. Flexible MIDI composition tools are provided. With real-time chord players, arpeggiators, and MIDI pattern generators, a single MIDI note can trigger complex sequences. Waveform 10’s MIDI learn capability makes using a MIDI controller simple and effective. Detailed MIDI editing and quantization is offered via clip editing and piano roll views.

Waveform 10 includes Antares Autotune and Melodyne Essential for pitch correction and creative pitch-shifting. Also featured is the Collective sampler/synthesizer with over 600 presets and the Multi-Sampler instrument, which lets you record directly from other apps (such as your web browser), and slice audio clips and convert them to MIDI. An array of effects plug-ins is provided for mixing. Third-party plug-ins can be used for VST, Linux VST, and Audio Units plug-in formats.

An expanded, modular mixer allows multiscreen setups and recallable DSP chains. Process the entire mix via drag-and-drop plug-in functionality in the Master section. The included Master Mix plug-in is specifically designed for stereo-bus EQ and dynamics processing. Waveform 10 Extreme also includes three Alex Sanfilippo Imagina Loop packs and is compatible with Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, and Raspberry Pi.
